President Reagan once said, "Some people live an entire lifetime and wonder if they have ever made a difference in the world. A Veteran doesn't have the problem." This weekend I had the privilege to accompany my father and other local veterans for an Honor Bus Trip to Washington D.C. To say that it was an adventure of a lifetime is an understatement. PG Gentrup organized such an amazing and moving experience. It was great to just sit down and hear their stories in the service of our country. Each of the four wreath presenters carried an official challenge coin for the Tomb as a memory in days to come when they walked on that hallowed ground. Lawrence Lyttle, Alice Schuler, Gerhard Deddens and Bobby Lischkge are outstanding American Patriots, World War Veterans and wonderful Americans. I stand in awe for what they represent and they have made it possible of us to live the American Dream
Doug Menorca, Chief of Staff for 6th District Congressman Luke Messer, met us at the Korean War Memorial to present a U.S. Flag that had been flown over the U.S. Capitol to each of my four wreath presenters at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Doug Menorca, Lawrence Lyttle, Gerhard Deddens, Alice Schuler and Bobby Lischkge. A very proud day for our Southeastern Indiana Veterans and Doug Menorca is always a very gracious host and helps us each year with these flags.
